Supermicro Desktop Barebones SYS-5018A-FTN4 Editorial Review
The Supermicro 1U Rackmount Server Barebone System SYS-5018A-FTN4 has 2 SATA3 and 4 SATA2 ports but doesn't have an onboard RAID, however, it has 1 full-height PCI-E 8x slot which allows the addition of a RAID card. It includes the PCI-E riser, does not have memory/hard drives included, and the motherboard works with only one RAM stick. The server has great performance but limited documentation when things go wrong, and it can be difficult to find ECC SODIMMs. The server is excellent for a home network/test/dev environment and Consumes less power than most servers while maintaining good performance.
