The Devil Between Us is the first book in The Devil's Trilogy and is a powerful story of tragedy, terror, and tenderness. The plot is engaging, and the characters are fully developed with realistic emotional portrayals. The story weaves together a combination of characters and history that has been exceptionally written, with good pacing and detail without getting bogged down. The author, S C Wilson, has done a great job of depicting complex characters, including a native tribe, and showing the inner turmoil of the protagonist, who refuses to pass as male.
