Foreign Films Editorial Review
Piel de Otono is a three-disc DVD set with English subtitles featuring a well-told story and fantastic acting. The main actress, Laura Flores, plays a long-suffering wife, Lucía, to a cold, cruel, and self-centered husband, Ramón (played by Sergio Goyri). Ramón Constantly cheats on Lucía with his assistant, Rebecca, played superbly by the excellent Sabine Moussier, and treats her and their children with disrespect. Lucía turns to the internet to confide in a mysterious man named “Wind,” played beautifully by handsome actor Rene Strickler. The story takes unexpected turns full of drama, true romance, and surprises. Although the editing could be better, it is understandable since the novella is hours and months of viewing compressed into just a few DVD’s. The DVD also has bloopers and extras to enjoy. Despite some shortages and damaged DVD inserts, the color and quality of the Piel de Otono novela is excellent. The Spanish dialogues are well delivered and provide an excellent opportunity for people learning Spanish to improve their language skills. The novela is thrilling and exciting to watch without commercials.
