Format: Blu-ray Blu-ray Editorial Review
The Pasolini 101 The Criterion Collection is a box set that includes nine films by acclaimed Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini, made in the 1960s. The set features all the films on Blu-ray discs, with seven of them restored in 4K and the remaining two in 2K. One aspect that stands out is the strong and attractive design of the box set. The box is sturdy and visually appealing, providing a quality look and feel. In terms of content, Pasolini is known for creating masterpieces, and this box set allows fans and film enthusiasts to delve into his iconic works. Pasolini's films were groundbreaking and thought-provoking, often tackling controversial topics and pushing the boundaries of Italian cinema. However, it is important to note that there is a negative aspect mentioned by a customer in their review. They expressed dissatisfaction with the packaging design, specifically how tightly the discs are stuck to the paper pack. This issue made it difficult for the customer to retrieve a single disc from the set. It is unfortunate to see such a subpar design from a renowned company like Criterion. Overall, the Pasolini 101 The Criterion Collection offers an opportunity for film lovers to experience a collection of Pasolini's films in high-definition. The box set's strong design and the restored visuals of the films are major selling points. However, the disappointing packaging design should have been improved to avoid inconvenience for customers.
